Welcome to the autumn edition of SmartHealth magazine – The SmartHealth Summit Issue. We are delighted to be back once again inperson at Croke Park this September for our annual SmartHealth Summit, which brings together a magnificent cohort of healthcare leaders, innovators and changemakers.
There is no doubt that digital health technologies are here to stay and at iQuest and Business Post, through our live event, publishing and experiential pillars, we are hardwired to support the ever-growing momentum around Ireland’s digital health and innovation journey.
Joining us at this year’s SmartHealth Summit are experts from across Ireland and Europe, with this year’s Digital Health Showcase being guided by some of the most respected voices in healthcare transformation. Martin Curley, the HSE’s Director of Digital Transformation and Open Innovation, will be joined by, among others, Dr Ann Shortt, Founder of Full Health Medical, who in this edition’s Insight piece gets to the very crux of how Ireland can meet the demands of digital healthcare in the coming decade.
As an A&E consultant frustrated by treating people in the Accident and Emergency room when it was to late, she was inspired to join the world of healthcare entrepreneurialism to tackle the root causes of preventable illnesses. Dr Shortt’s methodology lies in supportive and collaborative practices alongside an openness to new ideas – all ideals that we strive towards when it comes to our approach here at iQuest, Business Post LIVE and SmartHealth.
This coming autumn will see another inspiring run of events taking place, and we hope you will engage with us on these. On November 23 the 10th annual HealthTech Ireland Innovation Awards, marking HealthTech Ireland’s 40th year, will take place at Dublin’s Mansion House. Nominations have been coming in across a variety of categories from Most Transformative Impact and Best in Sustainability to Outstanding Professional within Healthcare.
We look forward to celebrating what promises to be a valuable platform to highlight the contributions being made by people across the healthcare and medtech sectors. As the season continues, this year’s ESG Summit (October 13), Cyber Security Summit (October 18) and Raising Capital Summit (November 16) will also offer unique perspectives relevant to those in the healthcare and innovation spheres.
